We purchased this DVD player to use in the car last March. It was so good we took it every time we went on a long journey until the inevitable happened - it was stolen from the car - so we have to buy another. No gripes with it at all and no hesitation about getting the same again especially as it has gone down £30 on Amazon in the last 10 months. It is a life saver for the kids on journeys in the car.

I have not bought this item yet. But I will.
I think the person who was moaning about play back had either not read what the DVD player can do or just wanted to plug another brand.
This will be a great product for the weeks I spend In Hotels away from Home

I bought mine from ebay after reading the reviews here. I tried the multii region hack mentioned here but it didn't work.
Here is the code that works:
Switch player On and Open the tray cover
Press Setup on the remote control
Press the down arrow on the player twice to
move menu selector down to the Preferences menu
Press the right arrow on the player
Press 2, 1, 2, 2, 2 and 5 on the remote
Press Left Arrow on the player
Press Down Arrow on the player
You should now see the REGION CODE screen
Press 0 on the remote
Press Setup on the remote to lock in the zone change
and to exit the process.
Im really happy with this player and the 7" screen is plenty big enough.

I've been watching various DVD's on this machine for a month now and it really is excelling itself (I've just ordered a second one for the car). The thing I love is the idea of the car lighter power supply but have to say everytime I have tried to use it the cord has fallen out of the hole almost immediately. The battery is great: 2 hours from new at continuous run with fully screen brightness and max volume. The sound level is great for a reasonable quiet room but would be no use in and area with crowds or ont he train or tube (headphone sockets are available - in fact 2 headphone holes are avail incase you want to share the video with someone else on a second headphone set).
I particularly ike that I can plug my DV camera into the machine and get live pictures - very useful. Go for it and buy this thing. I loves it!

Excellent player for the price.
The picture quality is good, and the sound quality OK (quite tinny through the speakers, but good through headphones).
The unit is compact and well designed, and looks great.
The negative points are minor, but worth pointing out:
1. The remote control keys are quite small, and the lettering/numbering is hard to see unless in a well-lit room.
2. The aspect ratio defaults to widescreen on start-up, regardless of the setting used previously, and to change to 4:3 you need to select widescreen first, and then 4:3.
