Rubbish remote control - 05 Jun 2007

Excellent TV. However, note that the remote control is rubbish i.e. need a few goes each time when pressing the buttons (same problem with another instore). Nothing like a Panasonic or Sony remote.
Value for money - 27 Jan 2007

Chose this item for its looks, price and based on a number of excellent reviews by trade magazines.
Although i was not as please with it as my year old Hitachi 32" LCD I have grown to appreciate this screen for what it is, a quality 37" LCD tv for a very reasonable price.
The picture quality is exceptable across the range of inputs once the factory settings have been changed. The feature of 2 hdmi inputs is essential with the increasing number of products offering this facility (SKT HD, HD-DVD etc).
The speakers do not produce the best sound but its good enough for me.
Overall this has so far caused no problems whatsoever and looks fntastic mounted on the wall in our conservatory.
Pretty good, but... - 20 Jan 2007

I'm enjoying this television except for one thing. The sound is too deep for it to have any life in it. It's just too heavy and makes me want to up the treble and reduce the bass, but adjustments make little difference.
The spoken word sounds like it has had all the life removed from it.
The little portable TV in the kitchen does a better job.
The Toshiba definately needs to be put through an audio system to get the best out of it
Go on, buy it! - 02 Jan 2007

I have read reviews on this product prior to buying it, and it seemed that for the money, you can't really do much better. The one thing that put me off a little was the reviews about the sound quality. And i think that my fears have been well and truly laid to rest....the sound quality is superb, i watched a film the day after purchase, and it was like being in the cinema (although the film was mediocre!) and booming across the room at me!
The picture setup is simple, and after pressing a few buttons, i had crystal clear beautiful picture, allowing me to see every blemish on the newsreader's faces.
All in all, this is the best TV purchase around, and for only £800 it really can't be beat! The biggest downside is the box, it's bloody huge, if you buy it in shops, you will probably need to unpack it in the car park, else it won't be going in your car!
If you're after a good size (it looks small in Comet, but trust me, you don't really need a bigger one, unless you're at that mid-life stage, or under-endowed!) HD ready TV, with connectors up the ying-yang, a great picture, beautiful sounds, and is great for playing the classics like Grand Theft Auto.....Then for the love of all that is holy, get this TV. It's great!
