Excellent TV - 30 Sep 2006

Apart from using this as a TV, my main reason for buying it was as a BIG PC monitor. I was concerned that at this size the resolution would be a bit grainy. It isn't. The display is excellent.
I also use it with an Xbox 360, again excellent.
My only problem was that it came with the wrong remote control and I could not tune in the digital channels. This was soon rectified.
I would recommend this TV highly.
Superb picture but after adjustment - 04 Jun 2006

I like previous reviews can only say that the picture produced is first class!!!
As an electronics engineer I have experience of many flat screen HD ready type displays and they all suffer the same problem. They have more pixels than a standard pan and scan PAL TV and therefore look dubious on occasion. The contrast in dynamic mode (default) on the TV for the most part is cranked up to the max. Select custom mode and wind the contrast down to around 60 and crank the brightness up. This does affect the viewing angle which is obviously what the manufacturer is trying to avoid. But under normal house hold viewing is perfectly okay and hey presto. Can't wait to use those extra pixels with a HD source!!!!
Great TV, but dubious default settings - 14 Mar 2006

This is a great TV, the picture is absolutely superb, but it took a little bit of tweaking the settings to get those results.
The TV shipped with the brightness sensor turned off in the picture settings. This meant the backlight was operating at the maximum setting and the picture was far too bright, therefore hard to watch and also emphasised the grainyness of standard-definition broadcasts. Turning the sensor on caused the brightness level to automatically drop to adjust to the lighting in the room which improved the picture dramatically.
I also found that turning off "dynamic contrast" and setting the picture profile to "standard" instead of "dynamic" produced a much more comfortable and realistic picture. I imagine the default settings are too vivid on purpose, so the unit looks good in a bright showroom next to other TVs, but for home viewing with these default settings it was near unwatchable and initially quite disappointing.
Hope this helps some other users of this otherwise superb set. Can't wait for HDTV broadcasts!
king of TVs - 08 Mar 2006

This really is an excellent piece of TV. Everything just looks so much better on it than in real life. In fact for my next holiday I may just buy Baraka on DVD and just gaze on in pure unfettered joy.
Very good TV - 06 Mar 2006

I bought this TV 2 weeks ago, and it's brilliant. The Digital tuner works very well, even off a small indoor aerial, and the picture is superb. The picture from my DVD player is excellent too. The analogue tuner (I was surprised it had one) isn't quite as good, but then it is working off the small indoor aerial. I've yet to explore all the other features, but I've got no complaints as yet.
The only bad point is that in the "plug and play" setup it doesn't autotune the digital channels.
One point to make with regard to the "smoke" review is that I DID type LE26R41B and smoke into Google, and it comes up with 20 things that are not related to smoke coming out of the TV and 10 things that are, but all appear to be exactly the same review posted to multiple sites.
