OK if you only move side to side - 24 Sep 2007

I picked up one of these a couple of days ago for the bedroom.
Installations and set up are very easy; with analogue and digital channels all atomatically tuned in without me having to grab for the manual.
Problem I've got though, is that the brightness and colour balance varies significantly depending on the angle at which you are viewing the screen. It's fine if you move side to side, but not so if you move up and down, getting lighter as you go higher and darker as you go lower.
This seems to be a charcteristic of Philips LCD TVs, as I've since been into a couple of shops and looked at other brands and they don't do the same thing (or if they do it's a lot less pronounced), but the Philips LCDs have done the same.
By setting the brightness so it's OK when I'm sat up in bed, the screen is very bright when I'm walking about.
Another odment is the digi programme guide, which doesn't show what's on by time, only by order - so you can't immediately see what programmes are on at the same time or overlap
