We bought one for the study, it is mounted on the wall so gives extra desk space. I agree with that there should be more than on and standby. We also get some hiss, but only when the freeview box sound is turned down and the tv speakers are up - solution is to keep the freeview sound at max and alter the sound on the tv only.

Hey just wanderin if this TV is HD Ready and has a HDMI socket or not
wud rele help if i knew

Have LG 32in LCD TV and its image quality is excellent. Thus when I wanted a small set for the office I felt that the 15LC1RB offered that same bright, true colour image.
I have not been disappointed; build quality appears high, remote well designed, super image, good sound, and the set even looks good! Normally watch Freeview, via Philips DTR210 digital set top box (also from Amazon), but even analogue reception is superb.
Pity it was not widescreen, but at that small size, they were few and far between, and I could not find anything that could match the image produced by the LG, so settled for a 4:3.
In summary, an excellent set at a reasonable price.

First review I've ever written but I have to disagree with other 2 reviewers. I have no hiss whatsoever on my unit - at any level of volume. I am perfectly satisfied in every way with the television, which I use in my study with an indoor aerial.

Excellent looking unit, remote control well laid out. One of the better LCDs for bass when turning volume up, BUT be warned, if you want to listen to low volume (sub level 8) then this is not the unit for you. I had low level background hiss from speakers that required a volume level of 10+ to overcome. I even tried turning balance fully to one side, but still got background hiss out of both speakers. I compared with a unit in Dixons and it did the same so I contacted LG tech support who said it appeared faulty and I should return - which I did and requested a replacement (excellent customer service and collection by Amazon/DHL) but replacement unit has same fault, although hiss can be overcome at volume 8 instead. As such for the use I purchased it, waking up to news at 6am it is useless as volume level has to be set so high to overcome the irritating hiss that it would wake the neighbours on the other side of the party wall to which it was fixed. So second unit has now been returned and I will replace with a toshiba - shame, I prefer the look of the LG.
