Being new to DVDs I wanted something simple and user-friendly. The automatic set-up via the scart lead (to a new Toshiba TV) was brilliant and the VCR and Audio CD playback couldn't be simpler. But I found the DVD element very frustrating. The instruction manual wasn't very helpful so it took a long time of trial and error to figure out how to use it. OK I might not be the brightest pea in the pod when it comes to electronics - apparently all it amounted to was switching from DTV to AV! - but the manual could have been clearer. It's a good buy for the price and once you get the hang of it fairly easy to operate, although I still haven't worked out how to use the VCR timer for auto-record!
