....on JVC DR-M's - I have had 5 in all!!!! either DVD or DVD HDD recorders and each one has developed serious faults. I have had no help, in fact JVC have been confusing, unprofessional and completely uncaring about a machine of theirs which frankly isn't cheap.
I have had green bleeding in to the picture, "Loading" messages for hours and days on end and have now finally just lost the fifth machine completely
DON'T EVER BUY A JVC DR-M DVD/HDD RECORDER.....EVER

i have returned this unit to jvc 4 times (£20 postage each time) and it always lasts a few months and then gets an error flashing 'loading...loading'. even after replacing the unit with a new unit each time it still happens so it is a manufacturing fault that jvc do not know how to fix.
when it works....great. i feel however it was a big mistake buying this dvdr.

I recently purchased this Model and after the initial trying it out period,i find that the Recorder is easy to use and packed full of various functions to make recording and playback very easy.I have been transfering my Video collection onto Disc using the x2 speed recording mode,and the recorded quality of the material on the Disc is excellent,if you are recording from camera to Disc the DV in socket is dead handy..no more faffing around with leads..just 1 cable from your Camera to the Recorder and you are done !.The Menus on the handset are very easy and clear to follow,and the Blue display on the Machine is a nice touch.If you are a first time buyer,but want a quality product that delivers at a reasonable price,then you wont do much better than to buy this Model.There has been some talk on U.S.customer review sites about a loading problem,i have read reviews on British web pages and no mention is made of this so called fault..i suspect that our American friends may have been putting the Discs in to the machine upside down.Understandable really.

I have recently purchased a DR-M10 Recorder and have found it to be a really excellent machine.
I have purchased JVC DVD-R's from the high street, which are "up to 8x speed" and are compatible for use on the DR-M10. There are also discs by other manufacturers, which are compatible. I have also used -RW discs at "up to 4x speed" which allow more flexible recording. Both are compatible with the DR-M10 - you do not need to buy specifically 2x discs.
Each disc is readily available on the high street and I think it a shame anyone thinks otherwise as I would recommend the recorder to anyone.

Overall this has been a perfect DVD recorder, and as yet I have not experieced any problems with it, I would highly recommend it.
