Toshiba SD370 - 13 Mar 2008

I already owned the toshsd360 upscaling dvd player which encouraged me to buy the sd370 as i was very happy with it. Im not dissapointed again absolutley no problems with it, plays my divx movies with excellent pic via hdmi & sound thro digital coax. Cant vouch for CD playback. £40 makes it a bargain. I read the negative comments posted here before buying, glad i was not put off. This will do me till blu-ray prices continue to tumble.

Just bought this player along with a tosh 37" 1080p tv and HDMI lead, bit fed up as got it from comet for £59 maybe should have tried amazon first.
Have had no probs at all so far no freezing or jumps was going to give five stars but am slightly worried after reading posted reviews feels like im waiting for it to go wrong now!In so far very happy with both pic quality and sound, i find the upscaler combined with the hdmi cable really does make a huge difference to what i was used to.Great tv Great player(so far!)
waste of money - 19 Feb 2008

This has been a waste of money, I bought what I thought must be a functional DVD player for my new HDTV, in order to use the HDMI and hopefully get a better picture until the format war sorted itself out. Much of the time its ok, but Toshiba appear to have forgotten one very important part - error correction! The picture frequently breaks up even on brand new disks and I also get a larger pause over the layer change than my first DVD player gave me and that was almost 10 years ago. I'm not buying from Toshiba again. If you need a super cheap DVD player I guess its OK for the price but its not a good match for an HDTV.
Poor Start - 12 Jan 2008

Received the item, 5 days late, followed the set up instructions to the letter, I have a Phillips Plasma but it would not recognise any HDMI input from DVD upscaler, contacted Toshiba support who confirmed that the unit was faulty. I am waiting despatch, promised 10.01.08, of new item, not received to date.
Look forward to trying the unit again / if it arrives, not at all impressed with Amazon's delivery promises. If not here by Monday will opt for Phillips model, same spec from Asda and will return Toshiba when it arrives.

I just received this DVD player yesterday. I conected it to my 40" Toshiba LCD 1080 via HDMI cable and tested it with retail DVDs. I had no playback problems at all. I was really pleased with the picture quality. 1080 upscaling is excellent.
So, far I am a happy customer.
