Multiregion or not that is the question - 01 Sep 2004

I had this player bought for me as a present. While it is pretty good for the money, it's not clear how the multiregion aspect of the player works, in fact I've only been able to get it working as a region 2 player. So beware, a good player overall but you may have difficulty playing those region 1 DVD's

bought the dvd player from tesco,s for under £30 as a present and tried it when i got home and it played every thing i put in it dvd , dvd-r and dvd-rw that i had put some film off the camcorder on also vcd and a cd which i had backed up jpeg photos , as well as a music cd i purposely wrote a cd-rw with mp3s on and that gave it no problems all i can say is i could,nt believe it at the price i paid , considering i paid close to £200 for a better known brand combi dvd-video that struggles with the dvd-r/rw i have no hesitation in recommending this player to anyone

Cheap and PLENTY of features, compact, stylish. Was over the moon at the quality for the price. Had it 4 months and it has delevoped a problem with playback (bad data transfer causing skipping and erratic pixilation), fails to switch on/off from remote etc etc. Shame, maybe I just got a bad one?
