Great Piece of Kit - For a Price Anyway - 25 Mar 2008

Bought this on the Monday and arrived on the Thursday with Amazons SuperSaver Delivery. Brilliant.
The Unit - The DVD player is good. Plays all the dvds I have chucked at it so far, however I have not done the multi-region bit. DVD player is quite. Plays MP3s well with showing the folder structure. What really did impress me was the Direct USB. I managed to play my photos, musics and also Div X's with ease!.
The Speakers - The speakers look pleasent and are not too overpowering. The sound quality is good with no hiss. The only downfall is that the wires are hard wired so enusre you don't intend to put the rear speakers too far. I think they are about 5 meters anyway. The Woofer is good it deep enough for me. The tall boys look nice and the centre speaker is a decent size. I have connected to my Philips tele and the tele remote also works well with the DVD player.
All in all if you after a home cinema and you dont wanna blow your budget this is a great system. Very pleased.

Overjoyed with this unit. Great sound for my living room. Plays divx files from my USB stick. Perfect palyback with great sound. Even plays divx with srt files(subs). Couldn`t rate it high enough. I would reccomend this to anyone who wants quality for a low price. Go on! Buy it.

First of all, this system is absolutely brilliant for the cost!
This system is truly several systems all-in-one!
I wanted a home theatre system to watch DVD movies, and my wife wanted a CD player with a radio that also hooks up to her Apple ipod. To my delight, there is a plug right in the front with a separate button on the remote, which is terrific!
The good thing about this system is that it does it all: Plays DVD movies and produces more than enough volume, plays CD's, has a plug-in for my wife's Apple ipod, plays FM/AM radio, has a USB slot for viewing pictures, and is also multi-regional.
There is a link on this Amazon page with instructions to make it 'multi-regional'. So for the previous poster who couldn't get it to play multi-regional........it does, but has to be programmed, but it's as simple as pressing a few buttons on the remote.
When you first insert a DVD, it will say 'wrong region', but open the slot, press 'stop' and then a series of numbers, and it changes the region to 'O'.
I would strongly recommend this system to anyone who wants a home theatre system and also wants a stereo system to play CD's and Mp3's...amazing!
Now my only problem is that I don't have an HD-TV, but that's next on my list of things to buy.
This system is great value for money compared to what some systems are costing.

Absolutely fantastic system for money. Plugged in to TV output so anything that is viewed on TV from XBox, Sky etc. sound is played from Aux selection on HTS3357. Excellent sound, DIVX supported and even playes files from a USB key via USB interface on front of unit. Upscaling for improved DVD picture on HD ready TV's. Can't praise highly enough for a unit under £150. Excellent first system, can't rate it highly enough! Get one! :o)

i was a little sceptical on how good this system would be for the price but i need not of worried the sound quality is amazing, making the player mutiregion is a doddle and the upscaling picture quality is amazing, there is not alot of difference between the upscaled picture from a normal dvd and quality from my PS3 playing blu ray dvd's !
only one complaint and it is minor ! it takes a while to boot up, about 5 seconds but this is not a problem once you see and hear the quality.
others have said there is a buzzing from speakers at low sound setting, i dont have this problem though!
