5 Reviews for Sony KDL32S3000 - 32'' Widescreen Bravia HD Ready LCD TV - With Freeview
Sony Bravia - sometimes the obvious choice is the right choice - 31 Mar 2008

I was pretty content with my old widescreen Sony Trinitron, but made the jump to the 32" Bravia LCD when the price fell to my liking. You can always get it for a few quid cheaper elsewhere (I looked around using all the price comparison sites), but I like knowing who I'm buying from, and when it arrived two working days after placing my order with Amazon, I knew I'd done the right thing.
This TV is great. Everything everyone else says is true - clean picture, simple to get it going, easy to adjust colours, easy on screen nav etc. What I would add is:
1. It has a nice, clear remote control with everything in the right place.
2. I had no problems pairing it up with my V+ box and DVD player using an HDMI cable (although you will need to adjust your box settings to tell it to push out a 720 high def signal)
3. If you have an Xbox, PS3, or are buying a very big screen, consider the Sony KDL32D3000
4. Everyone seems to be talking about the 'well known supermarket' deal, but this buys you a Sony KDL32U3000, which has a lower spec.
My only criticisms of all LCD tv's - and the Bravia is no exception - is that the colour does get considerably weaker if you view it from an acute angle, and because the screen isn't glass, it's more vulnerable to attack from small children. Nevertheless, this is a super tv that you won't regret buying.
Seriously impressed - 31 Mar 2008

Feeling compelled to write a review as the multitude of other reviews help me to but this TV and I'm still seriously impressed 2 weeks after it's arrived!
I spent months looking into various 32" LCDs and kept coming back to this one. The reviews for this TV were all superb whereas the others I was considering were quite mixed. Came down to a choice between this and the Samsung - I went for the Sony because of the better reviews and you can't go wrong with a Sony under £500!
Ordered the TV on Sunday 16th March at about 9pm. Spent Monday fretting about whether or not I should change from the Super Saver Delivery to something quicker and decided not to change it in the end. Had a knock on the door just before midday on Tuesday 18th and there was my TV!
Set up was childs play! I'm waiting for Sky to be sorted and in the mean time I'm using a £9.99 indoor Digital aerial - it still tuned all the freeview channels in a minute or two! Picture quality is excellent and it was definitely £460 well spent!!!
Excellent TV and service - 27 Mar 2008

Ordered on Friday 21st March and took delivery on Tuesday 25th March using the free super saver delivery. TV is excellent, looks stunning and was so simple to connect up to my Sky +, DVD and VHS equipment.
Well recommended and much cheaper than high street stores.
Blown away with the quality - 26 Mar 2008

Having already purchased a bravia about two years ago I knew to expect a quality product. I was not disappointed when unpacking and was seriously impressed by the presence of the television. It exudes a quality design and build quality right down to the matching remote control. Setup of the television was flawless. I can highly recommend this television from every point of view. I bought this for my parents (70's) and they could master the remote in seconds. Delivery from Amazon was via Parcelforce on the 'super saver' and even to Northern Ireland, and over Easter it still only took five working days. Excellent service. Thanks Amazon.
PS This model was available cheaper from other suppliers to the tune of circa £25.00 but they either charged an extortionate price for courier or it was 'currently out of stock'.
Good luck if you decide to buy.
Beautiful picture quality - 22 Mar 2008

Five stars with a small caveat!
Spent a long time researching the 'right' tv to buy and settled on this one after reading the many positive reviews here on Amazon and elsewhere.
In the main I have not been disappointed.
Don't waste your money on super fast/next day delivery - other reviewers have mentioned their frustration in this area. I used the free super-saver and the TV came two days after I ordered it - fantastic service.
The set-up and tuning could be done by a child - it was so quick!
I had to connect a DVD player and an aging VCR as well and the set-up instructions were very easy to follow.
I don't live in a cable area and my house is 'listed' so no Sky allowed. I have to settle with Freeview and this is where my potential query with the product arises. Am placing this post as it may be useful to others in a similar position...
Picture quality on terrestrial channels 1-4 via the digital signal is superb - crisp, vibrant and can cope with fast movement/action sequences.
The myriad ways in which one can refine the picture to your own preferences is excellent - the surround sound effect amazing on some programmes.
Annoyingly, however, some of the Freeview channels are frequently pixilated and the sound full of squeaks and burps - main culprits are Ch 5, Sky 3, Dave, QVC & bid tv (not hugely bothered about the last two though!) . Permanently get the 'selected channel is not tuned' banner despite re-tuning several times :-(
Slightly galling as previously had bog-standard LCD with £20 freeview box and all channels were spot-on. Which makes me think it's not the Freeview signal.
Have a sneaky feeling that this is not to do with the Sony TV, hence my 5 star review, as otherwise am thrilled, but at a loss as to what to do to rectify. Many apologies if this is not the place for this request but any suggestions?
I thought that airing my difficulties might contribute to others viewing this page who may be experiencing the same thing with what is otherwise a fantastic TV.
