Sharp let customers down - 09 Nov 2007

Purchased TV in Sept 06 and Sharp promised a full 7 day EPG download by Christmas 2006 - no chance! They have no intention of doing this for the GD7E as it is a limited edition. I have had trouble with this unit since purchase and the Sharp aftersales service is absolutely shocking. After 4 months of non-provision of after sales to fix my problems they agreed to supply me with a new TV - then renaged on that promise because I bought the TV from AMAZON! I have been told to take up my complaint with AMAZON - I will let readers know how I get on.
No EPG, motion ghosting on darker scenes - 13 Oct 2006

Sharp have promised an EPG upgrade and failed to deliver, a huge disappoint when every other manufacture has managed to build this in since freeview introduced. Indoor scenes are prone to suffer a brownish hue and motion ghosting. Scenes set in good lighting and colours tend to be very good.
superb picture, but no EPG guide - 13 Sep 2006

A great TV, but as the other reviewers said the setup is appalling. That I could live with, but there is NO 7-day EPG guide which makes it just about the only TV without this feature.
Sharp keep saying they are working on a software upgrade. Don't believe them, it hasn't happened yet and once new models come out it'll be dropped.
This feature is available on the cheapest freeview box.
Nice Product - Shame about the Manual - 14 Jul 2006

Arrived a few days ago. Stunning to look at, even without switching it on !! The picture is amazing. I moved from a 27" CRT, and you do have to get used to the LCD, but once you have aclimatised - fantastic. The sound is good, again plenty of room to customise.
I connected to a DVD recorder with external Freeview box, and a VCR. Connecting to these and the 5 analogue channels was simplicity itself.............BUT. I thought I'd been supplied a set without digital tuner...nothing to be seen. The manual is completely useless, with its bad translation. Initial set-up did not give me the DVB connection promised. However messing around with on-screen menus came up with the goods, but several of the channels that I know I could receive were missing. Running the wizard again next morning brought them all up. Same thing with the digital radio channels...trial and error.
Now it set up, very pleased, but spoilt by the installation instructions. It would not be a good idea to give as a present to someone who was not confident with electronic equipment...unless you want to set it up for them !!!!
