Great TV - 12 Mar 2008

We bought our 32PFL9632 last October. It looks great with DVDs played through a progressive-scan DVD player and really sharp with our Nintendo Wii (using a component cable, not the composite one that came in the box) despite the Wii not outputting a high-definition video signal.

Howver we are underusing it since we don't have a high-definition input to really show it off (eg Sky HD, Blu-ray player or XBox 360).

This telly has lots of inputs. Also it has a USB port on the side for flash drives for playing back audio and picture files.

Downsides:-
The pettiness of the following comments should illustrate how good I think this TV is:-
Picture isn't much cop with our cheapo Pace Sky box. Ironically the TV really shows the shortcomings of the Pace's output.
The composite (RGB) input on EXT3 only comes with a minijack audio connection. I only noticed this when trying to plug the 4gamers Wii component cable in: you have to either buy a two phono-minijack converter or (as I did) plug the Wii directly into your amplifier. And if you're not using a good amplifier with this beast, what are you playing at?
There's no way of turning the screen off if you are playing audio files from the USB socket through a hi-fi.

Ours cost £692.99 including postage from electrical 123.

Obviously it's a lot more expensive than many 32" LCDs but from what I've seen you very much get what you pay for. A lot of cheaper ones seem to suffer problems with large amounts of movement onscreen and I find them fatiguing to watch.

And finally...it looks great. Very shiny and stylish. The "Ambilight" feature is fun and we'd probably miss it if we turned it off but quite frankly I wouldn't pay more for it.
